The home of a Lansdale man who is facing dozens of child pornography charges has been vacated and deemed a danger by Lansdale Code Enforcement.
“There’s a single family home with an illegal apartment that was ordered vacated due to unsanitary conditions and imminent danger,” said Jack Hansen, chairman of the Lansdale Borough Code Enforcement and Land Planning Committee, during Wednesday night’s council meeting.
The building issues surfaced when police arrived to the home of 50-year-old Eric Swenson—located at 115 Susquehanna Avenue—late last month, as part of an investigation that ultimately lead to 70 felony charges. After Swenson was taken into custody, police returned to the home to execute a search warrant.

“This particular case was very difficult—I’m not at liberty to discuss the address of particulars involved—but generally speaking, police were serving a warrant, and while they were there, they identified what they believed to be code violations and safety concerns,” said Chris Kunkel, manager of Lansdale Borough Code Enforcement and Community Development.
Kunkel added that the property was ordered vacated, and its occupants were moved to a safe location.
The ages of the residents, as well as the number of residents that were asked to vacate, have not been released. When reached for comment, Lansdale Borough Manager John Ernst stated that he could not provide any details due to the ongoing investigation by the police department.
Though officials would not comment, a former tenant of a nearby building shed some light on the situation.
“We’ve known for years that that place was a wreck,” said the source. “It’s actually why we moved.”
The source said they believed that Swenson lived in the building with his daughter, while his two young nieces lived with his sister in the illegal apartment area. The source described Swenson as “creepy” and “filthy,” and said his home had cat feces “all over the place,” reeked of cat urine, had broken glass all over the property and feral animals living in the roof.
Swenson remains in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail. A red sign on his front door currently reads “Danger” with a message below it.
