Montgomery Township Police have released the details regarding a pedestrian-struck accident that occurred Wednesday evening on the Route 202 Parkway.
According to Montgomery Township Police Chief Scott Bendig, police responded to the scene at 6:45 p.m. for a report of an automobile accident involving a struck pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Audi A4 sedan—operated by a 46-year-old male from North Wales—was traveling on the Route 202 Parkway approaching Knapp Road, when it proceeded through the intersection and struck a 27-year-old male from Lansdale.
The victim reportedly sustained injuries to his arms and legs, but was conscious and breathing on his own at the scene. Bendig said that the victim was initially treated at the scene by members of the Volunteer Medical Services Corps, but was then airlifted via JeffSTAT to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelhia for further treatment. The victim remains at the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries, according to Bendig.
The driver of the Audi remained on scene and is cooperating with accident investigators.
