NPHS Theatre To Perform ‘Mamma Mia’

North Penn High School’s Theatre Department is performing Mamma Mia! for this year’s spring musical.

Public performances will be held on May 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. and May 5 at 2 p.m. A Gold Card Matinee performance will take place on May 1 at 1 p.m.

Mamma Mia! tells the story of Donna (senior Molly Hofstaedter), a hotel owner in the Greek islands who is helping her daughter, Sophie (senior Sammi Stec), prepare for her wedding. Sophie wants her dad at her wedding, but she never met him. After finding out that there are three potential men that could be her father, she secretly invites them all to her wedding.

The musical celebrates the music of the Swedish pop band Abba. Songs featured in the musical include “Mamma Mia,” “Dancing Queen” and “Super Trouper.”

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online (handling and credit card fees apply), by mail through the Ticket Order Form or at the door. Gold and Silver Card tickets will be honored at all performances for those who present their card.
