Towamencin Cat Identified, Returned Following 10 Month Adventure

Einhorn.

One feline's incredible journey ended ten months after it began, as Einhorn the cat is now safely in the loving arms of his owners after months of wandering the North Penn area.

Lori Dudley, the cat's owner, found Einhorn as a stray kitten in Nov. 2013 and took him into her home. He quickly became a beloved part of the family, but then during a move to the Towamencin area, Einhorn took off.

“The second day of the move, he got out on our balcony, jumped down the steps and took off," said Dudley. "We hadn’t seen him since Nov. 17, 2017."

Being November, winter would be setting into the area shortly, a fact not lost on Dudley.

“My cat isn’t very big, and we found that we have a family of foxes that live behind us, so between that and the severe winter we had, i couldn't help but think the worst,” said Dudley.

Despite the grim outlook, Lori never lost hope for finding Einhorn.

“We searched the entire time. We went back to our old house on several occasions," said Dudley. "We posted on Facebook [in] the 'Lost Pets of Montgomery County and Next Door' [group]. We searched surrounding neighborhoods and just hoped someone found him and was taking care of him.”

During her search, various people submitted pictures of "found" cats that they believed looked like the missing Einhorn, but none were the real thing. Then—despite the rough winter, wild animals and all the dangers facing a domestic cat—came the moment Dudley had hoped for: On Sept. 15. 2018—nearly a year later— she received a message via Facebook.

“Jenna Cave messaged me on Facebook, explaining that she and a friend were at Freddy Hill Farm that day and [had seen] a cat that resembled a picture of [Einhorn] from a post i had created," said Dudley. "She sent me two pictures of my cat along with the message, and I immediately began shaking and showed my husband the pictures.”

Einhorn then returned home to his grateful family, and resumed life as if nothing had ever happened

“Our dog daisy was so happy to see him, whenever the cat laid down to take a nap, Daisy was right there next to him," said Dudley. "When we picked him up, he didn't have a scratch on him, was clean, not a flea or tick; nothing that would have let on that he’s been out and about for ten months.”

This reunion never would have occurred without the help of a bystander who was willing to lend a hand.

“The one thing that i really would like to express is that Jenna and her friends could have walked right past the cat and done nothing," said Dudley. "Instead, they went to great measure to make sure he was reunited with his people. She is an angel and a blessing in our lives, and we are forever grateful to her.”
