The property manager for the Morgandale Community in Towamencin has sent a notice to their residents following multiple coyote sightings in the area.
According to the Towamencin Township newsletter, the sightings occurred off of Forty Foot Road, across from Dock Mennonite Academy. The release states that when coyotes are spotted in residential settings, they are normally in search of food and are known to feed on garbage. The release also states that residents are urged to secure their trash and place it inside of a closed receptacle, and that coyotes typically avoid humans unless threatened.
Additionally, the newsletter asks that residents do not feed the coyotes, do not run from coyotes, and do not let their pets outside unattended. Aggressive or fearless coyotes, or any other unusual behavior, should be reported immediately to the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission by calling 610-926-3136.
