Student Charged After Threatening to ‘Shoot Up’ Penndale Middle School

UPDATE: Oct 31 4:47 p.m. - According to Chief Trail, the student is a 13 year old male, non-Lansdale resident, who allegedly made the threat to another student while at school.

"[The student] told another student that he was going to 'shoot up the school, and everyone in it'," said Trail. "At that time, the school was placed in lockdown." Police responded to the scene moments later and took the student into custody.  
 
Trail stated that the investigation is ongoing, but they found no weapons on the student. Additionally, Trail could not comment on whether or not the student has had any prior incidents with law enforcement, as juvenile records are not made public.
 
The student had an intake hearing on Monday, where it was decided that he would be held at the Montgomery County Youth Center for the duration of the court proceedings.

A male student in the North Penn School District was arrested on Friday, after they allegedly threatening to ‘shoot up’ Penndale Middle School.

According to Lansdale Police Chief Michael Trail, police responded to Penndale for a report of a male student threatening to “shoot up the school.” The student was then arrested and charged in Montgomery County Juvenile Court with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

Chief Trail added that the police will be issuing a press release in the following days, that will provide more information about the incident.
