The time is not near, the time is here! Tonight is the night, folks. The weekend before Halloween: The beautiful gateway to debauchery for all of us not willing to let go of this majestic unicorn skeleton of a holiday. Like most places that are not terrible to reside, the North Penn area has much to do for its residents.
For the whopping eleventh year in a row, the Graveyard Smash is taking place tonight. Doors will open at the North Penn Social Club in North Wales at 7 pm. This year's lineup has six bands, covering a wide range of musical tastes from punk to...covers of punk.
The Ramoms are an all-female Ramones cover band. While not from the immediate area, these ladies are based out of the Philly-area. The Ramones may be one of the most covered bands on Earth, but the allure of a mom-exclusive run at the band is certainly noteworthy.
Urban Resist brings the Oi flavor to the equation. Promises have been made of a few Blood For Blood covers, which will be a little angrier than the Ramones covers. We shall see!
The Riverside Odds hit the stage next. Their blend of punk is perfect drinking music on a cold—maybe rainy—night like tonight. While nothing is known of any covers during this set, let's keep our fingers crossed for Motorhead!
The Bad Ups are the what anybody should have stuck in their head while skateboarding around and yelling at people. True believers of the punk spirit. As with the Riverside Odds, not much is known about this set specifically, but rumors have been circulating of some theatrics. Hope we see some blood.
Local Smash Heavyweights Epic T’s are closing this out one out tonight. For those unfamiliar, this is an all-star lineup of local musicians playing the best covers from a few generations of music. In costume. Derek "One Man Party" Calhoun has year after year explored new vocal stylings during the set, while remaining in beast mode the entire time. A site to say the least, but most importantly, a good time to be had by all!
For anyone in Lansdale that may be in town along Main Street tonight, the Underground at Round Guys is also hosting a show starting at 8 pm. Mesa Glow, Florida Wayne and Gamma Wolf will be playing with the drinks of Round Guys available a few feet away!
