Oktoberfest Cancelled, Zer0.5K Rescheduled Due to Saldutti Funeral Services

Discover Lansdale has announced that this year’s Oktoberfest celebration—scheduled for Oct. 27 at the Lansdale Freight House—has been cancelled, following the death of longtime Lansdale Parks and Rec Director Carl Saldutti.

“The sudden passing of Carl Saldutti caught us all by surprise, and he was such an integral part of Lansdale,” said Bill Henning, Lansdale Borough Councilman and Discover Lansdale Board Member. “With the funeral services on Saturday, we felt there was no way we could put on the event as it needs to be done…just too many of us need to be there to honor, remember and show respect to Carl.”

The announcement was made on Facebook on Monday afternoon, after a discussion regarding a scheduling conflict with the Oktoberfest activities and funeral services for Saldutti. The Oktoberfest celebration will return next year, according to the release.

As for the Frachthaus Zer0.5K fundraiser, it has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4. Check-in and registration will still begin at 2 p.m., with an event start time of 3 p.m. There will be an after party at the freight house with food, drink, music and more.
