Parkside Place in North Wales will be hosting the Fourth Annual HOWLoween 5k Run and Dog Walk to benefit Home At Last Dog Rescue.
The 5k run and one mile walk will take place on Oct. 27, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be given out to the overall top male and female finishers as well as the top three male and female finishers in a variety of brackets. The top three dogs that cross the finish line will also receive prizes.
For those not interested in the run or walk, there are a variety of other activities. There is a costume contest, dog agility area, Canine Good Citizen testing, an area for Home At Last alumni, a photo booth and a DJ. There will also be a variety of vendors and an area about volunteering with Home At Last.
Kids are encouraged to participate in the run, walk, and costume contests. People can run or walk with strollers, but they will need to start in the back of the line. Last year, more than 800 people participated in the walk and run, with even more coming out to volunteer or enjoy the vendors that were present.
All proceeds will benefit Home At Last Dog Rescue. This organization is a non-profit dog rescue that saves dogs from high-kill shelters as well as dogs who are being surrendered by their former owners. The rescue does not have a building, so they provide the dogs with a foster home until they are adopted into a permanent family.
