Mater Dei Continues Blue Ribbon Celebration in Mardis Gras Parade

Mater Dei will continue its celebrations for its recent accomplishment of receiving the Blue Ribbon Award by participating in Lansdale’s Mardi Gras parade and holding festivities at the school.

On Saturday, the school will sponsor a float in Lansdale’s annual Mardi Gras parade. Parish priests, administration, faculty, staff, students, and parents will follow the float. At 2 p.m., the school will host a Family Tailgate Celebration in the school’s parking lot complete with horse rides, games and food. A Mass of Thanksgiving will take place at Saint Stanislaus Church at 5:15 p.m.

The celebration follows the Oct. 1 announcement that Mater Dei was a recipient of the Blue Ribbon Award, which the most prestigious award is given to public and private schools across the country. The award is given to the top 15 percent of schools in the country. The school celebrated by watching the announcement in school and held a Mater Dei Blue Ribbon Day with fun activities for the students.
