Doylestown origami artist Jay Ansill will be speaking at North Penn Arts Alliance (NPAA) as a part of the organization’s monthly speaker series.
The talk will take place on Nov. 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lansdale Public Library. The event is free and open to the public. Ansill will speak about his experiences and will walk attendees through an origami project.
Ansill is known for his “Pink Men” series, which features origami figures in pop culture-related scenarios. He also has a book out called “Origami Sourcebook: Beautiful Projects and Mythical Characters, Step by Step,” which walks readers through a variety of origami projects.
“Jay is a free spirited artist, chock full of creativity with a lot of fun ideas,” said Kim Newell, NPAA President. “I’ve been following the adventures of his ‘pink men’ for the past couple of years, and I look forward to hearing more about his process and taking part in the guided project.”
Aside from being an origami artist, Ansill is a well-known Celtic/folk musician and composer. He has released albums of his own as well as collaborated with other artists on their projects.
