Montgomery Theater will continue the celebration of their 25th Anniversary with a performance by stand-up comedian Lucas Bohn.

Bohn will be performing his act, “From Lesson Plans to Late Night,” that tells his tale from going from being a teacher to being a comedian. The one-night show is taking place on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. at the Montgomery Theater in Souderton.

“We chose Lucas Bohn because we had hired him a few years back to do a one-night show that sold out and was an absolute riot,” said Tom Quinn, Montgomery Theater’s founder and artistic director. “We had such great success with his show that we asked him to come back and do a show that would not only entertain but help us commemorate our 25th anniversary.”

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 7 p.m. that includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a presentation by Quinn. Tickets are $50 and include the show and cocktail hour.

This performance is a part of the celebration of the theater’s 25th anniversary. Quinn opened the theater after moving to Philadelphia once he became a director and administrator in Los Angeles. He had a strong desire to open a theater in the suburbs and decided that the location in Souderton was perfect.

“The first show we ever did was a play called “The William,” written by California playwright Jonathan Daly,” said Quinn. “I was very familiar with the play because I had already directed it three times and I knew our new audience would really appreciate it.”

Since its founding, the theater has grown from an 80-seat non-union playhouse to a playhouse that seats 120 people and employs union actors. The theater has been celebrating the milestone anniversary since January and has held events such as their annual gala dinner and a reunion event.

“Our product has grown stronger over time as our reputation has spread through the acting community so that we get better actors as time moves on,” said Quinn. “Moving forward, I believe our progress will help us employee more actors who have proven to be the best in the Greater Philadelphia area.”
