Uber Driver from Lansdale Allegedly Raped Unconscious Passenger

An Uber driver from Lansdale is facing numerous charges after he allegedly raped an unconscious female passenger on her way home from the Valley Forge Casino.

Ahmed Elgaafary, 26, has been charged with felony counts of raping an unconscious victim, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person who is unconscious, and sexual assault. He’s also facing misdemeanor charges of indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of an unconscious person in connection with the incident.

According to a report by PennLive, the incident occurred at 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 10, when Elgaafary picked up the victim from the Valley Forge Casino to take her to her home in Chester County. At some point during that ride, the victim became unconscious, and Elgaafary allegedly had sex with her.

From there, an eight-month investigation took place, which concluded on Wednesday with Elgaafary’s arrest and preliminary arraignment in front of Magisterial District Judge Joann Teyral.

Elgaafary was remanded to the Chester County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 cash bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. in front of Judge Teyral.
