UPDATE: The entire event has been cancelled due to impending storms. Please see the following link for more details:
The event—which is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.—will begin with the walk portion of the evening, starting at the staging area at Century Plaza (100 West Main Street), crossing down Madison Street to North Wood Street, and then coming back up West Main Street to Railroad Plaza. At that point, the crowd will disperse throughout the town to take in all of the action, displays and activities.
New additions this year include breakdancing zombies, which include past and present members of the Philadelphia 76ers Dunk Squad, zombie mechanical bull riding on the revered El Toro, a kids zone with bounce houses and zombie theme’d balloon art and more. Returning features include the hearse parade, Thriller dance, the brain eating contest, costume contests—with hundreds of dollars in gifts and prizes—and of course, putting bloody hand prints all over the Lansdale Police Chief’s vehicle.
In addition to the zombie theme’d activities, the event will also feature staples of Discover Lansdale’s First Friday season, including live entertainment on South Wood Street, a beer garden and DJ in the lot at Susquehanna and Main, and food trucks and food vendors throughout the event area, including hometown-favorite Waffle Mamas.
The event is free to the public, including makeup, which will be provided in the staging area beginning at 4:30 p.m. Those who wish to do their makeup on their own simply have to arrive to the staging area prior to 6:30 p.m.
