One person was taken to the hospital for evaluation following a garage fire along the 200 block of Cricklewood Circle on Wednesday night.
According to a press release from Montgomery Township, multiple fire units were dispatched at 8:46 p.m. for a report of a dwelling fire. Heavy smoke and fire were showing at the time of the call, according to MontcoAlerts.
Upon arrival on scene, first responders encountered a fire in the garage of the home. Due to the quick response of the fire companies, as well as the actions of the homeowner, who closed the front door and overhead garage door, the fire was contained to the garage and was put out shortly after.
Personnel from the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Montgomery Township Police Department and the Volunteer Services Medical Corps were aided on scene by fire departments from Chalfont, Colmar, Hilltown, Horsham, Lansdale, Warrington, Hartsville and Hatfield. Fire companies from Wissahickon and Upper Gwynedd served as standbys for any additional incidents that could have occurred in Montgomery Township.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
