A Towamencin man is facing attempted homicide charges after he allegedly ran over a subcontractor with his truck following a dispute about money.

Jeffrey Thompson, 47, of the 1600 block of Kriebel Road, is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and reckless driving, in connection with the incident that occurred just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.

According to Lansdale Borough Police Chief Michael Trail, police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of Wells Fargo Bank—located along the 200 block of West Main Street—early Friday evening, where they discovered that Thompson, who owns a construction company, had driven his truck over the victim—a 47-year-old subcontractor from Perkasie. Police allege that the incident was preceded by an argument about money owed to the victim, who reportedly stood in front of the truck until Thompson intentionally accelerated and drove over him.

The victim sustained multiple injuries, and was transported to Abington Hospital where he is listed in critical condition, according to Trail.

Thompson has his preliminary arraignment the following day before Magisterial District Judge William Maruszczak, who set bail at $500,000 cash. Thompson was then remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail. His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine on Dec. 21 at 10 a.m.
