Local foodies, rejoice!

After several years of discussion, it has been announced that Lansdale Restaurant Week will make it’s debut in February 2019.

The inaugural event is being spearheaded by local chef Sean Ciccarone, of Smoke Daddy’s Home Grown Barbecue, along with representatives from Stove and Tap, Round Guys Brewing, Discover Lansdale and the Well Crafted Beer Company. Though the details are currently being worked out amongst the restaurant week committee, the timeline has been established as beginning on Monday, February 4 and ending on Sunday, February 10.

Details about the event, such as participants, menu items and price points are expected to be announced in late December or early January. Currently, the focus is on enlisting the participation of additional restaurants, according to Ciccarone, and to that extent, he is in the process of sending out a participation agreement to area businesses.

Additionally, Ciccarone said that they would also like to include restaurants that do high-volume takeout but may not have adequate seating to take advantage of the event. Citing Mama Thai—whose food has been near-universally lauded since their opening over the summer—Ciccarone said those types of establishments will be a vital component to the success of the event.

Organizers hope that the event can mirror the success of Philadelphia Restaurant Week, which sought to strengthen sales during an industry-wide down period by enticing customers to try new establishments and foods via universally discounted price points. Restaurants that are interested in participating in Lansdale Restaurant Week are asked to contact Sean Ciccarone via email at [email protected].

(Edit: Round Guys has informed North Penn Now that they are selling their gift cards at 20 percent off through Dec. 24, and those cards can be redeemed at their location during restaurant week.)
