Lansdale to Get a Dose of Punk Rock Friday Night

Joe Jack Talcum.

Lansdale’s music hotspot, The Underground, which is owned and operated by Round Guys Brewing Company, will be hosting a great lineup of punk rock music on the evening of Aug. 31.

The lineup contains a unique mixture of hard punk and emo, which were staples in the Lansdale area in years past. The event headliner, Joe Jack Talcum, is most known for being the guitarist and lead vocalist for the legendary punk band from Philadelphia, “The Dead Milkmen.” Also appearing this evening are Phoenixville based acoustic duo, Girl Science, Philadelphia based alternative punk band, “Oh, Are They?” and Lansdale’s own “Victor Traps,” led by former “Khrissy” bassist, John Kemp.

This show can be viewed as a sort of a “punk rock reunion”, pairing Joe Jack Talcum and John Kemp together in one night. Kemp’s former bands moniker, “Khrissy,“ was inspired by a lyric in a song by “The Dead Milkmen.” “Khrissy” were also openers for “The Dead Milkmens” tenth anniversary show in Philadelphia. Surely you will hear nostalgic stories of years gone by. The Underground, with its subterranean location, intimate vibe and high energy, form the perfect location for a wonderful night of punk rock passion. The Underground is looking to ensure that music has its place in Lansdale now and for future generations.

The Underground is located at 408 W. Main St. Lansdale, PA 19446 (parking and entrance are located to the rear of Backyard Beans). Tickets are available online or at the door for $10. This is an all-ages show. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.
